Jo Jette is an author, artist and designer. Describing herself as a misfit in the truest sense of the word, Jo has never fit the regular die. Instantly labelled a nerd at school, in her formative years Jo dived head first into a world filled with tortured teenage angst, heavy metal and punk rock. Oh and she wrote some really bad poetry. I mean it was truly atrocious. Inevitably realising that poetry was perhaps not for her, and driven by an obsession with reading everything she could get her hands on, Jo finally picked up a pen and started writing her own tall tales. Somewhat ambitiously she began by creating her own choose-your-own-adventures. Hand-writing and illustrating them herself in little stapled-together-scrap-paper-books. Many years later, after failing Literature in high school (even though she wasn’t enrolled in the class!) and following a few awkward career choices, Jo became the Editor of Desktop magazine in 2006. After leaving Desktop in 2010, Jo joined the amazing team at Wooden Toy, a passion publication where she moonlighted as the magazine’s Editor until it’s closure in 2012. Jo then founded her own digital art and design magazine, Nothing to Nobody, which ran for 3 years. As much as she loves magazines however, Jo’s one true love has always been writing novels, and so in 2013 she finally left the magazines behind to focus on writing her own stories. Jo self-published her first book, Thirteen Bones, in 2015 followed by Café La Morte in 2017. When she’s not writing the latest chapter in a new amazing story, Jo loves reading, watching Sci-Fi movies or TV shows, working on The Read Me Project, roller-skating and spending time with her husband Josh, and their cats - Frankenstein, Oswin & Arthur.
