OK, so how super cute are the illustrations of Denise van Leeuwen? Born in Heinkenszand (Netherlands) at the start of the 80’s, Denise advises she always knew she wanted to draw. Recycled paper, graphite hints, muted colours washed out with blissful grace – these are her trademarks. Graduating from the Willem de Kooning academy in 2005, Denise has been freelancing ever since as an illustrator for hire. Her amazing work has been featured in Elle magazine, Rails magazine, Avantgarde and more.
Below you’ll find some simply scrumptious illustrations completed by Denise for a children’s book written by Krista Izelaar, called Planet Adventures, which was released this year. If you like what you see please visit her website for more goodness, and if you fancy a commission then you can contact Denise through the site too.
