Combining two of our favourite things – heavy accents and the walking undead, Cockneys Vs Zombies (out on DVD very soon!) has been described as a Sean of the Dead meets Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels. Directed by Matthias Hoene, who explains the story behind the gorey as “a bunch of east-easters fighting their way out of a zombie infested London, lead by an unlikely gang of amateur bank robbers and foul-mouthed plucky pensioners”, you can expect to see the usual suspects in the form of the beautiful girl, the hard-arse, the gun-totin’ granny etc… You’ll also get to see the very cool opening credits, directed by Gianluca Fallone. We’re looking forward to catching the whole shebang!

Vampires, zombies and monsters – oh my! Just what we like to find lurking on our computer screens. These super cute and creepy creations have shuffled straight out of the brain box of the one and only Duke McAbre. Based in Germany, Duke’s mind is fit to bursting with comic style concepts… I just wish I could speak German! I really should have paid more attention in school…
Now anyone who knows me well knows I am obsessed with Zombies. I’ve even just started writing a novel about a Zombie outbreak… but that’s a story for another time. What we have here though is a brand new TV series (not airing in Australia yet damn it, so you’ll have to stream it if you can – legally of course!) called The Walking Dead. Based on the comic books written by Robert Kirkmanand lovingly drawn by Tony Moore (for 6 issues – though he still drew the covers up to issue 24), and then Charlie Adlard from issue 7, The Walking Dead follows the survivors of a Zombie apocalypse as they try to find a new, relatively Zombie free home, and the horrors they face simply trying to get by along the way. The survivors are led by Rick Grimes, a police officer before the time of the Zombies, who is recovering in the hospital from a gunshot wound at the time of the outbreak. Trailer and images below so you can gorge your brains out… mmmmm brains…
Based in Minneapolis in the USA, Andres Guzman is an illustrator slash designer with a flair for colour and a versatile pen style. Be it in colour or monotones, this guy can draw! Influences seem to include zombies and skateboarding – all good things really – but make sure you check out his personal projects for a real slice of cool! After a brief visit to his website we discovered these amazing visual gems just for you. But don’t be selfish now and make sure you share with your friends!
